LAVROV WARNS WEST: A FUTURE WAR WITH RUSSIA COULD BE “VERY SHORT”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has highlighted what he describes as a contradiction in Western messaging: Russia is portrayed as struggling on the battlefield, while Western governments simultaneously warn that Moscow could potentially prepare to attack Europe in the future.

Lavrov reiterated President Vladimir Putin’s position that Russia has no intention of attacking European countries.

However, he warned that if claims about a future Russian attack are actually being used to justify preparations for an attack on Russia, Moscow’s response would be fundamentally different.

According to Lavrov, such a confrontation could become “a completely different and very short war.”

His remarks add to growing tensions between Moscow and Western capitals and raise a critical question:

Should the West treat Lavrov’s warning as a serious deterrent message or as another attempt to intimidate European governments?
