Lamba-Lima Royal Council of Chiefs, Copperbelt Province.

Press Statement by the Lamba-Lima Royal Highnesses of the Copperbelt Province.

Greetings to the People of the Copperbelt.  The Lamba-Lima Royal Highnesses extend warm greetings and sincere best wishes to all the people of the Copperbelt Province and the Republic of Zambia.

We remain grateful to the Almighty God for the peace, unity, and stability that our nation continues to enjoy.

Today, we wish to publicly express our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia, for the remarkable development and positive transformation that has taken place across the Copperbelt Province and the nation at large under the New Dawn Government.

Since assuming office, the New Dawn Government has implemented a number of people-centered policies and development programmes that have improved the lives of our people Copperbelt. Among the notable achievements are:

• The introduction of free education, enabling thousands of children to access education and the ones that dropped out going back to school regardless of their families’ financial circumstances.

• Massive investment in the rehabilitation and construction of roads across the Copperbelt Province.

• The reopening and revitalization of mines, creating employment opportunities and restoring economic activity within our mining communities.

• The increase of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from K1.6 million to K40 million per constituency, empowering local communities to undertake meaningful development projects.

• The delimitation of constituencies leading to creation of additional constituencies has expanded the ability to provide development service delivery in the communities.

• The construction and expansion of health infrastructure, including the Cancer Diseases Hospital and various health posts in several districts, bringing healthcare services closer to the people.

• The construction of Chiefs’ Palaces, demonstrating the Government’s recognition and respect for the institution of traditional leadership.

• Timely delivery of farming inputs, particularly fertilizer, which has enhanced agricultural productivity and strengthened food security.

• Increased Social Cash Transfer amount and expansion of the number of beneficiaries, providing the much-needed support to vulnerable households.

• The implementation of the Cash for Work Programme, which has created income opportunities for many families.

• Expansion of the School Feeding Programme, improving school attendance and learner performance.

• Restoration and continued payment of meal allowances for university students, easing the financial burden on students and their families. And

• Continued support for youth empowerment, women empowerment, local enterprise development, and increased investment in community infrastructure through CDF.

These programmes, among many other progressive policies, have greatly reduced the financial hardships that many citizens experienced before the New Dawn Government assumed office. They have restored hope, dignity, and confidence among our people.

For these commendable achievements, Mr. President, we say: Thank you.

We further acknowledge that the New Dawn Government has promoted peace, strengthened democratic governance, upheld the rule of law, and significantly reduced political violence and caderism. Today, our people are able to live together peacefully regardless of political affiliation, tribe, or religion. The spirit of Ubuntu continues to unite us as one people and one nation.

As traditional leaders, we firmly believe that development thrives where there is peace, unity, and cooperation. We therefore reaffirm our commitment to working with the Government in promoting development, preserving our cultural heritage, and improving the welfare of our people.

In view of the foregoing, we, the Lamba-Lima Royal Highnesses of the Copperbelt Province, hereby pledge our continued support and cooperation with the New Dawn Government under the leadership of His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema. We further call upon our people to support and vote for His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema so that the developmental programmes and policies currently benefiting and transforming our communities could continue for the greater good of our Copperbelt Province.

As we move forward, let us remain united, peaceful, hardworking, and committed to building a prosperous province for present and future generations. Together, we can safeguard the gains already achieved and continue on the path of sustainable national development.

May the Almighty God continue to bless His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema.

May God bless the people of the Copperbelt Province.

May God bless the Republic of Zambia.
