PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TO OPEN 14TH NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

President Hakainde Hichilema will on October 9, 2026, open the First Session of the Fourteenth National Assembly at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka.

National Assembly Clerk, Loveness  Mayaka says President Hakainde Hichilema will address the nation on Government’s policy direction and priorities for the 2026-2027 period.

Ms. Mayaka says Members of Parliament will thereafter debate the policy pronouncements contained in the Presidential Address.

Meanwhile, Ms Mayaka said the election of Presiding Officers for the Fourteenth National Assembly will be held on October 2, 2026.

This is according to a statement issued to RCV News by National Assembly of Zambia Director of Public and International Relations, Anthony Mpolokoso.
