RUTO MOURNS WICKNELL CHIVAYO AFTER FATAL HELICOPTER CRASH

Kenyan President William Ruto has mourned Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke and others who died in a helicopter crash in Zimbabwe.

Ruto described Chivayo as a dear friend whose warmth touched many people, remembering him for his friendship, energy and belief in the potential of Africa.

“I am deeply saddened by the tragic passing of my friend, Wicknell Chivayo, together with his wife, Lucy Muteke, and the other lives lost in the helicopter crash in Zimbabwe,” Ruto said in a statement posted on X.

He said the sudden deaths were a painful loss to the victims’ families, friends and everyone who knew them.

Ruto extended his condolences to the families of all those who died, as well as President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the people of Zimbabwe and others mourning the tragedy.

“May God grant Wicknell, Lucy and all those who perished eternal rest,” he said.
