STATEMENT OF GRATITUDE

I wish to convey my profound gratitude to the President of the Republic of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, for the confidence and trust he placed in me during my tenure as Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security. Serving in this important portfolio has been one of the greatest honours of my public service journey. I remain sincerely thankful to President Hichilema for the opportunity to contribute to the transformation and reform agenda within the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security. Under the leadership and guidance of the Republican President, the ministry undertook significant reforms aimed at strengthening security institutions, promoting professionalism, improving service delivery, enhancing human rights observance and modernizing operations within our law enforcement and immigration systems. During this period, the country witnessed major strides in maintaining law and order, strengthening community policing, improving working conditions for security personnel, enhancing passport and national registration services and advancing reforms that promoted transparency, accountability and public confidence in security institutions. I am particularly grateful for the President’s unwavering commitment to democratic governance, constitutionalism and the rule of law, values that greatly shaped the operations and direction of the ministry. I also extend heartfelt appreciation to the men and women serving under the various departments and agencies within the ministry for their dedication, resilience and patriotism in safeguarding our nation. As I reflect on this period of service, I remain grateful to the Zambian people for their support and cooperation and I reaffirm my continued commitment to national service and the development of our country. May God bless Zambia. Hon. Jack J. Mwiimbu, SC, MP
