PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has sworn in Ms. Patricia Malaila as Deputy Auditor General – Audit Division.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Hichilema urged Malaila to remain firm and focused on deliverables while working in unison with others. He called on her to ensure audits are completed on time so that transparency and accountability in the management of public resources yield tangible results. Hichilema said public resources must be put to good use while remaining accountable, adding that this entails fewer international trips and, where travel is necessary, smaller delegations limited to those with a role to play, so that resources are saved and invested in education, health and infrastructure.
