GAYTON MCKENZIE PRAISES ZIMBABWE, ZAMBIA AND ANGOLA FOR STANDING WITH SOUTH AFRICA, SAYS THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE CAMPAIGN TO ISOLATE THE COUNTRY
South Africa’s Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, has praised Zimbabwe, Zambia and Angola, saying the three countries have continued to stand with South Africa and are not part of efforts to isolate the country.
Speaking during a media briefing, McKenzie said some African countries have been promoting narratives that seek to isolate South Africa, but stressed that Zimbabwe, Zambia and Angola have not joined those efforts.
The minister said South Africa values its relationship with its neighbours and believes strong regional cooperation is essential for trade, economic growth, security and development across Southern Africa.
His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about South Africa’s diplomatic relations on the continent and have sparked debate on social media, with many people welcoming his recognition of the three neighbouring countries while others shared differing views.
Do you agree with Gayton McKenzie that Zimbabwe, Zambia and Angola have stood with South Africa while some other African countries have sought to isolate it?
