FOUR newly sworn-in Ndola City Council Members of Parliament have pledged to closely collaborate with the UPND to drive the newly launched ‘Grow Zambia Agenda’ across their respective constituencies.

The lawmakers—representing Ndola Central, Chifubu, Bwana Mkubwa and Kabushi constituencies—made the collective commitment in separate Press interviews at the Ndola Civic Centre today September 10, 2026.

The swearing-in ceremony also saw several local ward councilors and newly elected Ndola Mayor Kennedy Kasaba take office, was marked by calls for complete institutional synergy.

The declaration marked a major step toward bipartisan legislative cooperation on the Copperbelt.

It follows the conclusion of national oaths administered by the Speaker of the National Assembly.

Speaking first, Member of Parliament for Ndola Central, Emmanuel Mulenga (Ndola Central) emphasised that the time for political campaign divisions had concluded.

Mr Mulenga who won the seat on Resolute Party ticket noted that the immediate priority must shift entirely toward improving the livelihoods of ordinary citizens.

“We have taken our oaths to serve the people of Ndola,” Mr Mulenga stated. ” Development knows no political borders,” he said.

“We are ready to work with the UPND administration to ensure that the targets laid out under the national agenda bring real infrastructure, job opportunities and better services to our local communities,” he said.

Kondwani Winga (Chifubu) stated that the mandate of the electorate required immediate, practical unity.

“The elections are done, and our people in Chifubu are not interested in partisan bickering; they want clean water, better roads, and empowered youth.

Mr Wings said working in tandem with the national framework was the only practical way to accelerate the delivery of Constituency Development Funds and uplift the communities.

Tillas Sichinga (Kabushi) emphasised that the welfare of everyday citizens must come before political posturing.

“I have a covenant with the people who shaped me. Our focus in Kabushi now shifts entirely toward restoring peace, expanding community security, and fixing dilapidated local infrastructure. By cooperating with the national agenda, we ensure that resources flow smoothly to where they are needed most—directly into our neighborhoods and local markets.”

Warren Mwambazi (Bwana Mkubwa) added that cooperation with executive development policies remained the fastest route to achieving tangible results.

“Our commitment today is straightforward: service delivery over division. The Zambia Agenda provides a clear roadmap for grassroots development,” he said

Mr Mwambazi said he was ready to collaborate across the aisle to see tangible progress materialised on the ground.

Local Government authorities and civic leaders present at the Civic Centre welcomed the cross-party consensus, viewing it as a critical step toward eliminating administrative bottlenecks in municipal project execution.

Analysts note that aligning local legislative efforts with the broader national agenda would streamline the deployment of infrastructural developments, road rehabilitation and social support services across the entire Ndola district.

The event at the civic grounds drew scores of community leaders, local councillors and residents eager to see immediate action from their newly installed leadership.

Civic authorities noted that the willingness of opposition, independent and ruling lawmakers to rally behind a centralised developmental plan sets an optimistic tone for the 14th Session of the National Assembly.

The four MPs concluded their remarks by urging their constituents to actively participate in the development process, promising an open-door policy where community feedback remained at the heart of their legislative duties.
