The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced Presidential results from 21 constituencies in the country, bringing the consolidated constituencies to 70, out of 226.
ECZ Chairperson, Mwangala Zaloumis, has announced that incumbent President Hakainde Hichilema of the United Party for National Development (UPND) has amassed 626,434 votes from the 70 constituencies.
She explained that the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Restoration Party (NRPUP) President, Brian Mundubile, got 505,795 votes.
Mrs Zaloumis further indicated that Citizens First leader, Harry Kalaba, has 6, 469 votes while Kelvin Bwalya of Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) got 5,565 votes.
She added that Fred M’membe of the Socialist Party (SP) secured 3,747 votes, while Independent Candidate, Given Katuta, got 2500 votes.
Mrs Zaloumis also stated that Movement for Economic Emancipation’s (MEE) Given Chansa, got 2,077 votes and Brian Mushimba of the Organised People’s Party (OPP), 1,589.
Others are Richard Silumbe of the Leadership Movement who got 993 votes, Ackim Njobvu of the Democratic Union with 735 votes and Howard Kunda of Zambia Wake Up Party (ZAWAP) also with 735 votes.
New Focus Party President, Richwell Sianunene, got 646 votes while Christian Democratic Party President Daniel Pule had 302 votes.
Meanwhile, ECZ Chief Electoral Officer, Brown Kasaro, has announced that the next update on results will be today, at 14:30 hours.
