KAMPAMBA Mulenga has retained the Kalulushi parliamentary seat after polling 12,539 votes in a closely contested election.

Mulenga, who stood on the United Party for National Development ticket, narrowly defeated NRPUP candidate Bernard Besa, who received 12,370 votes. Resolute Party candidate Patrick Mulenga finished third with 3,566 votes. A total of 29,001 votes were cast, with 526 ballots rejected.
