The Copper Queens will face FIFA World Cup bound Denmark, in an international friendly in December, 2026.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Charles Chakatazya says the match will be played on December 5, 2026, in Esbjerg, Denmark.

Chakatazya says the fixture demonstrates the confidence and respect the Copper Queens continue to attract internationally.

He says the match will also help keep the team engaged as Zambia prepares for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.

Chakatazya says the friendly is part of FAZ’s plans to regenerate the Copper Queens following their recent WAFCON campaign, which ended Zambia’s hopes of qualifying for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

He says the Denmark match will provide the team with an opportunity to focus on new targets as it prepares for the Olympic qualification campaign.

Meanwhile, Denmark Coach Jakob Michelsen says the match will give his team an opportunity to test itself against an African side ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil next year.

The Copper Queens are currently preparing for their first round Olympic qualifier against Uganda, which will be played over two legs from December 5 to 13, 2026.

This is according to a statement issued to the media by FAZ Head of Media and Communications Nkweto Tembwe.
