With just 13 days to go until the 13 August 2026 General Elections, Chilubi Parliamentary Candidate Christabel Kalasa has appealed to voters to turn out in large numbers and “choose a future of development” for the island constituency.

Kalasa has described the upcoming poll as “more than an election” and “a defining moment that will determine the direction of Chilubi for the next five years.”

She said the election presents an opportunity to address years of unfulfilled promises on service delivery in Chilubi.

“For many years, we have hoped for meaningful development. We have dreamed of better roads, quality schools, improved healthcare, electricity, clean water, jobs for our young people, and opportunities for every family. Yet many of these dreams remain unfulfilled,” Kalasa said.

The aspiring lawmaker urged every eligible voter to participate, saying: “Your vote is your voice, and your voice has the power to change the future of our land.”

The parliamentary hopeful further said her campaign is anchored on practical solutions for Chilubi’s unique challenges as an island district.

“If you entrust me with your vote, I pledge to be a Member of Parliament who listens, who works, and who fights for every ward, every village, every fisherman, every farmer, every youth, every woman, and every elderly person in Chilubi,” Kalasa stated.

Meanwhile, Kalasa listed key priorities as improving school infrastructure, upgrading health facilities, making roads passable, expanding access to electricity and clean water, and creating economic opportunities for fishermen and farmers.

“Before you vote, ask yourself one simple question: Which candidate has the vision, commitment, and heart to serve the people of Chilubi? I am not asking for your support based on words alone,” she said.

She added that her commitment to Chilubi “did not begin with this campaign, and it will not end after the election.”
