Chipolopolo striker Kennedy Musonda has returned to the Zambia Super League, signing for Super Division side Zesco United after a three-year stint abroad.

Zesco officially announced Musonda’s acquisition on 12 August 2026 as part of its signings ahead of the 2026 Transitional League.

“ZESCO United Football Club is delighted to announce the acquisition of new players ahead of the Transition League. Kennedy Musonda returns to the Zambia Super League. At Young Africans he scored 32 goals and won 3 Tanzanian Premier League titles, 3 Cups, 2 Community Shields, and reached the CAF Confederation Cup Final,” the club stated.

Musonda spent two and a half years at Tanzanian giants Young Africans after leaving Power Dynamos.

During his final season with Power in 2022/2023, he helped the Kitwe side win the Super Division title with 11 goals.

After his contract with Yanga expired, the striker moved to Israel a year ago, joining second-tier side Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim.

He was linked with a return to Power Dynamos before opting for Zesco.

On the international stage, Musonda scored 4 goals for Chipolopolo during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Musonda is not the only new arrival at the Ndola club as Zesco have also bolstered its squad with more additions.

The club has also bolstered its squad with goalkeeper Patrick Chooma from Leopards FC, Chadian midfielder Yves Allarabaye from Foullah Edifice, Gilbert Tetani from Mufulira Wanderers, and John Mulenga who joins from Green Buffaloes having featured for Young Green Buffaloes.

The signing of Musonda is expected to add firepower as Zesco prepare for both domestic and continental assignments in the Transitional League.
