Electorates in Chinsali District have commended the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for conducting a peaceful and well-coordinated voting exercise across various polling stations.

One of the voters, Amos Sichone, says the exercise at Mishishi Polling Station has so far been peaceful, with poll staff demonstrating professionalism and willingness to assist voters.

Mr Sichone stated that he arrived at the polling station around 04:00 hours and found the poll staff organised and helpful.

He told the media shortly after casting his vote that the peaceful atmosphere should be replicated at all polling stations across the country.

“I am impressed with the peaceful environment here because we have not experienced any form of confusion,” he said.

And first-time voter Chilufya Sakala noted that the voting exercise at Chinsali Day Polling Station has been running smoothly since 06:00 hours.

Ms Sakala mentioned that, as a first-time voter, she is impressed by the professionalism exhibited by the poll staff in handling the exercise.

She said she is happy to have exercised her constitutional right to vote for her preferred candidate for the first time.

“I want to call upon all those that have not yet come to cast their votes here to do so,” she added.

Meanwhile, United Party for National Development (UPND) Chinsali Central Constituency Parliamentary candidate Christopher Chiponde, applauded security personnel for ensuring tight security at polling stations.

Mr Chiponde said the presence of adequate security personnel has helped guarantee peace during the voting exercise.

He further expressed optimism that the peaceful atmosphere would continue until the end of the 2026 General Elections.

Mr Chiponde also commended Chinsali electorates for turning up in large numbers to exercise their right to vote.
