Slurry Truck Operator
Position Overview The Slurry Machine/Truck Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining specialized equipment used in the application of slurry seal to road surfaces. This role requires knowledge of road construction processes, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain slurry seal equipment, including slurry trucks, spreader boxes and related asphalt maintenance equipment Ensure proper calibration for accurate and uniform application Monitor material flow, application rates and surface consistency during operations Prepare road surfaces by cleaning and removing debris Prepare, mix and apply slurry seal materials according to job specifications Perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs Troubleshoot equipment issues and adjust as needed Follow all safety procedures and regulations Maintain records of materials, equipment and project progress Requirements and Qualifications 5 years of experience operating slurry seal truck or similar equipment Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work as part of a team High attention to detail and quality Valid clean driver’s licence Work Environment and Schedule Physically demanding work requiring standing, walking and lifting Overtime required based on project needs Weekend work required as needed How to Apply Send your application letter, curriculum vitae and certified certificates with names and contact details of three referees to: The Human Resources Manager, Bango Trading (Pty) Ltd, P.O.
