The Mine Supervisor – Drilling G.E.T is responsible for managing and coordinating all Ground Engaging Tools activities across the drill fleet, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This role is pivotal in implementing quality assurance and quality control processes, monitoring G.E.T performance, and maintaining compliance with operational standards. Key Responsibilities for Mine Supervisor Jobs in Kalumbila Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and operational standards. Supervise daily G.E.T activities, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and best practices. Conduct routine inspections of drill consumables and G.E.T components to maintain quality standards. Monitor wear rates and failure trends, escalating any abnormalities to the G.E.T Coordinator. Maintain accurate records of all G.E.T changes within drilling management systems. Support investigations into premature G.E.T failures and propose corrective measures. Manage inventory levels, coordinate stock counts, and communicate replenishment needs. Provide technical guidance and coaching to drill crews on proper G.E.T handling and installation. Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with SOPs and QA/QC requirements. Assist in developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures and risk assessments. Prepare detailed operational reports on G.E.T performance, costs, and equipment condition. Contribute to cost reduction initiatives aimed at extending G.E.T life and reducing drilling expenses. Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, and OEM partners to optimize drilling productivity. Perform additional duties as assigned by the G.E.T Coordinator or Mine Management. Required Qualifications and Experience Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least five credits. Diploma in Mining Engineering required; Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field is advantageous. Valid Zambian Driver’s Licence. Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a mining environment, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role. All academic qualifications must be verified and validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA). Competencies and Skills Comprehensive knowledge of drilling operations and Ground Engaging Tools. Understanding of drill consumables, wear mechanisms, and failure analysis. Familiarity with QA/QC principles and drill maintenance practices. Experience in machine performance monitoring, data analysis, and operational reporting. Inventory and stock management expertise. Proficient report writing and presentation skills. Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications. Effective planning, prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
