Position Overview – Accountant Payables Jobs in Kitwe As an Accountant – Payables, you will play a critical role in managing the college’s payment processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursements. Your responsibilities will include verifying documentation, maintaining payment records, and reconciling supplier accounts to support the smooth financial functioning of ZIBSIP College. Key Responsibilities Verify that all payment documents are fully signed and approved prior to processing payments. Ensure payment receipts are attached and payment vouchers are duly signed. Maintain organized records of original payment vouchers and confirm all supporting documents are available and authorized. Compile payment vouchers for various suppliers providing goods and services to the college. Assist in preparing wage pay sheets for part-time lecturers and general workers. Request, reconcile, and analyze petty cash reimbursements, allocating expenses to the correct accounts. Reconcile supplier statements with college payment vouchers to ensure accuracy. Prepare monthly cashbook and bank reconciliations. Generate and submit periodic disbursement reports. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications and Experience Full Grade 12 Certificate. Progressed to at least CA Level II, ACCA Level II, or CIMA Level II. Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience in accounting or finance. Registration with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is mandatory.
