ZESCO Ndola Girls will face two-time African champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifier Botswana 2026 final after a blockbuster semi-final day in Gaborone.
Sundowns booked their spot with a dominant 5-0 thrashing of defending champions Gaborone United on Thursday.
Earlier, ZESCO edged Silver Strikers of Malawi 2-1 to reach the final.
The final sets up a repeat of last year’s semi-final, when ZESCO produced a late comeback to defeat Sundowns 2-1 and reach their first-ever regional final.
The two sides have already met once this tournament, with Sundowns beating ZESCO 1-0 in the group stage – adding another chapter to the growing rivalry.
ZESCO now have another shot at claiming the regional crown and securing qualification for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Sundowns, meanwhile, will be out for revenge after last year’s semi-final exit and to add another regional title to their continental pedigree.
ZESCO coach Florence Mwila said the team must raise their level.
“It is important we won and qualified for the final. We have seen areas that need improvement,” Mwila said.
Jackline Chomba was named Player of the Match after a standout performance in the 2-1 win over Silver Strikers.
The Ndola Girls topped Group A with 9 points from 3 wins:
They remain unbeaten with 4 wins from 4 games at the tournament.
The COSAFA Qualifier serves as the regional pathway for Southern African clubs to reach Africa’s premier women’s club competition.
