Lusaka - Zambia: President Hakainde Hichilema has assured continued economic development in Ndola district on the Copperbelt Province.

President Hakainde Hichilema has assured continued economic development in Ndola district on the Copperbelt Province.

The President has cited the Lusaka- Ndola dual carriage way as a huge economic milestone that is set to improve and expand economic progress in the region and beyond.

Mr Hichilema has noted that the improved road is already reducing travel time and road traffic accidents, saying his administration stands ready to continue with such developmental progressive milestones once voted back into office come August 13, 2026.

“We are going to continue improving roads, in order to cut down on traffic accidents and travel time.” The President said.

He added that his administration is working towards growing the economy of Ndola in order to improve the many livelihoods through the creation of jobs.

“Come August 13,2026 ensure that my administration is given another term in office, for continued development.” He added.

And the President Hichilema has offered financial empowerment to marketeers who lost their goods during the fire last year at Kapalala market in Ndola.

The President cautioned the traders to ensure that the funds are used to refurbish their businesses and enhance their livelihoods.

“I will give you financial support, just like I did your colleagues in Chingola who were faced with a similar situation, please use the support to improve your business ventures and enhance your livelihoods.” He added.

The President who has concluded his two-day working visit on the Copperbelt was speaking at Nkwazi grounds in Ndola, during a Community Engagement.

The Head of State further called on traders and market leaders to denounce violence and ensure that the market place is conducive for business at all times.

“We do not want to go back to the violence experienced in latter years, in bus stations and markets, ensure that the environment in bus stations is conducive.” He explained.

And President Hichilema has called on Management at Kafubu Water to consider reducing the water charges, saying he will also ensure that the water challenges the community is faced with are dealt with in the shortest possible time.

And speaking at the same occasion, President Hichilema announced that beneficiaries who were left out on the SCT scheme in the district will be included.

“My administration is all inclusive regardless of gender or tribe, therefore all those who were excluded on the SCT payments will be considered” he said.

The President has also put a smile on volunteer nurses who have since been offered employment, saying their dedication and hard work has not gone unnoticed.
