Zambia : President Hichilema Orders Swift Payments To Farmers

 President Hakainde Hichilema has directed the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) to ensure that farmers are paid through mobile money within two to three days after delivering their maize.

‎Speaking during a public rally at Mishikishi Grounds in Masaiti District, President Hichilema said farmers should no longer experience lengthy delays in receiving payment after supplying maize to the FRA.

‎The President said the directive is intended to ensure timely payments, to allow farmers to reinvest in their farming activities and improve agricultural productivity.

‎He noted that prompt payments will strengthen the agricultural sector by enabling farmers to adequately prepare for subsequent farming seasons and improve household incomes.

‎Meanwhile, President Hichilema has assured the people of Masaiti that Government will construct the Munda Wanga–Mukushi Road, describing it as an important economic route that will provide a shorter link to the Great North Road.

‎He said the road project will improve connectivity between communities, ease the transportation of agricultural produce and other goods, and stimulate economic growth in the district.

‎The President further directed that volunteer teachers and nurses who attended the rally in Masaiti District be employed as Government remains committed to strengthening the country’s education and health sectors through increased recruitment of frontline workers.

‎President Hichilema reaffirmed Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and implementing policies aimed at enhancing agricultural production, creating employment opportunities, and improving the livelihoods of Zambians.

‎Meanwhile, United Party for National Development (UPND) aspiring candidate for Kalalangabo Constituency, Michael Katambo, has expressed confidence that the newly created constituency will experience accelerated development under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema.

‎Mr Katambo said the people of Kalalangabo and Masaiti constituencies are committed to supporting President Hichilema and the UPND in the August 13 elections.

‎He said the Government has demonstrated its commitment to improving the welfare of citizens through investments in road infrastructure, agriculture, education, and health, adding that continued support for the ruling party will accelerate development in the area.
