Zambia : President Hichilema Emphasises Inclusive Development

President Hakainde Hichilema says his administration intends to continue with inclusive development of not leaving anyone behind.

President Hichilema says that this is to ensure that every Zambian enjoys a share of the country’s social and economic growth, regardless of political or social standing.

The Head of State said this in a speech read on his behalf by Vice President Mutale Nalumango during the inauguration luncheon in Lusaka.

He reminded that Zambia was coming from a collapsing economy which was stabilised and the debt restructured in the last five years.

The Head of State indicated that Zambia was now moving from stability to prosperity and growth.

The President reiterated that part of the agenda in the new five-year mandate was to double the economy.

President Hichilema added that the government will also work with traditional leaders to advance peace and development.

Emphasising on the need to guard peace, the Head of State explained that peace is the greatest ingredient for development.

Meanwhile, the Head of State highlighted that Zambia will deepen global partnerships in trade, investment, technology and skills for youth and women empowerment.

“Zambia remains a reliable friend and constructive partner. We continue to promote peace, regional integration and economic cooperation,” he stated.

And he thanked the Zambian people for a renewed mandate, accepting it with humility to serve, deliver and remain accountable.

Mrs Nalumango led a toast to continued peace, unity and prosperity for all Zambians.
