Zambia : Ndola School Managers Challenged To Produce Best Results

Ndola District Education Standards Officer Roiva Musonda has called on teachers handling examination classes to improve the 2026 Grade 7 and Grade 12 results through the effective use of reflective teaching during the third term.

Speaking during a teachers’ capacity‑building workshop, Ms Musonda said teachers should have a well‑structured plan to improve this year’s results.

“Reflective teaching is a well-structured, planned and coordinated approach to teaching and revision that enables teachers to identify critical examination areas and adequately prepare pupils. Examination questions are based on specific learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers must have a wider knowledge of the content, syllabus and examination setting as they prepare pupils,” she said.

Ms Musonda said the meeting was timely and urged school managements and teachers to work together and prioritise the welfare of pupils, as expected by parents.

She said Heads of Department, Deputy Head Teachers and Senior Teachers should ensure that teachers have the right teaching and learning materials to deliver lessons effectively.

Ms Musonda implored school managements in the district to ensure that examination classes and Grade One classes are allocated to competent and experienced teachers.

And Ms Musonda has called on parents to avoid sending pupils to sell various items during school hours, adding that education is the only equalizer that will make their children become responsible citizens in the future.

“Producing good results is not the responsibility of teachers alone, but requires collective effort from all stakeholders including school administrators, parents and pupils themselves,” she said.

Ms. Musonda condemned cases of drug abuse and bad behavior among some pupils, and called on teachers, parents, and all stakeholders to sensitize children on the importance of good morals in communities.
