National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) Chief Executive officer, Muyangwa Muyangwa has called on members of the public to take advantage of a new product introduced by the institution, called Supplementary Savings, to build their wealth and contribute to economic development.

Mr Muyangwa says the product is designed to provide both the informal and formal sectors with another avenue for saving money and securing their future.

Speaking in an interview with the media, he said the product has no limitations on how much an individual can save, adding that people can save any amount at any given time.

‘’NAPSA is for everyone, both the informal and formal sectors, and we want to appeal to every individual to take advantage of this product and grow their wealth,” he said.

Meanwhile, a fourth-year student at the University of Zambia (UNZA), Natasha Mpashi, has urged her fellow students and the youth at large to take advantage of the new product and start saving for the future.

Ms Mpashi said young people can start saving now to prepare for their future endeavors.

She said the savings could help them venture into economic activities and enhance their livelihoods.

Ms Mpashi further said the product provides people in the informal sector, such as marketeers and other traders, an opportunity to save part of the income they generate.

“This product is very attractive because it caters for both the formal and informal sectors,” she said.
