Mr Hichilema says the report comprehensively covers achievements recorded by the government across various sectors.
Speaking during an engagement meeting with civil servants at the District Administration Offices today, Mr Hichilema stated that the document must be disseminated to the ordinary Zambian.
Mr Hichilema noted that the report contains tangible evidence of government programmes, citing pictures of pupils benefiting from free education and images of solar panels relating to the energy sector, road infrastructure and other sectors.
“We ask Heads of Departments to go down there and share the contents of this document. By Wednesday people should be able to get the facts of what the government has done for the past 5 years,” he said.
He said as Heads of Departments, civil servants should have no reservations about going out to explain to the people what the government is doing.
The Provincial Assistant Secretary further cautioned against treating the report as a mere magazine to be placed on office tables, adding that it is a special document that must be taken to the people.
“We may fail in our duties to treat this report as a mere magazine where we just put it on the table. For this one, it is a special document that we have to take to our people,” he stressed.
And Mr Hichilema stated that the document should be used to relate to what President Hichilema has been articulating.
He emphasised that the achievements of President Hichilema are not a myth but are evidence-based and visible to everyone.
Mr Hichilema urged officers to explain the contents of the report to the people in languages they understand, citing Namwanga and Bemba among the local languages spoken in the district.
He also called on district authorities to utilise community radio stations to explain to the masses what the government has achieved over the past five years.
