Lusaka PS commends public service workers has commended public service workers for their dedication to duty.

Speaking during an interactive meeting in Rufunsa District yesterday, Mr Kalusa said public service workers are the backbone of the government as they are the implementers of all the programmes and policies that are initiated.

“As civil servants, you remain the backbone of government. Every policy that is formulated, every programme that is implemented, and every service that reaches our citizens is made possible through your hard work and sacrifice,” said Mr Kalusa.

He added that the government is aware of the challenges and concerns that public workers face, stating that it remains committed to improving their conditions of service.

“Your government remains committed to progressively improve the conditions of service for civil servants. As our economy continues to strengthen and fiscal space improves,” added Mr Kalusa.

He further urged the public service workers to continue guiding and sensitising communities on government programmes and policies for the benefit of the people.

Rufunsa District Commissioner, Richard Mabena, highlighted some of the challenges being faced in the district that include staff and office accommodation.

Mr Mabena, however, stated that despite the challenges, workers have continued to implement government programmes effectively.
