Dr Katema served as a Cabinet Minister under the Patriotic Front (PF) government, holding various positions, including Minister of Community Development, Mother and Child Health from 2011 to 2014, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services between 2014 and 2015, and Minister of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs from 2015 to 2016.
In addition to his cabinet roles, Dr Katema also served as Zambia’s Ambassador to Italy.
This announcement was made by the Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa, in a statement issued to the media today.
Mr Kangwa highlighted that the funeral service for the late former Cabinet Minister will be held in Meanwood Vorna Valley in Chongwe District.
He further advised members of the public that the funeral and burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
