President Hakainde Hichilema says the Chipata-Chadiza road works will be completed soon, adding that only about 10 kilometers of the 65-kilometer stretch is remaining.

President Hichilema notes that the road infrastructure is a key investment to the rural district’s development.

The Head of State indicates that the K1.3 Billion Chipata-Chadiza road project is being undertaken by Sable Constructions Limited.

President Hichilema said this in Chadiza where he met hundreds of residents at the Old showgrounds.

“This road that you are also calling HH road is being upgraded to bituminous standards. This shows how much I love the people of Chadiza. I have also invested personal resources in improving the water situation in wards, by drilling boreholes,” he said.

Meanwhile, President Hichilema has urged residents of Chadiza to vote for the United Party for National Development (UPND) in the upcoming General Elections for continued development, while citing the various development projects his government has delivered in the district.

He said unlike the previous government where many children were out of school, his government has introduced free education, which he said is now law.

“We will continue with Social Cash Transfer, sponsoring pupils in boarding schools, bursaries for skills training and creating more jobs,” he added.

President Hichilema further said the government is working on improving the network in some areas and plans to bring a bank to the district.

These developments have been appreciated by residents, including UPND Chadiza East Parliamentary Candidate, Yamikani Phiri.

He also noted that the delimitation of Chadiza into East and West constituencies means more resources to push the area’s development agenda.
