Zambia and Andorra sign joint communique establishing diplomatic relations

ZAMBIA and the Principality of Andorra have signed a joint communique establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the ceremony, Mulambo Haimbe, minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, and Imma Tor Faus, minister of foreign affairs of the Principality of Andorra, signed on behalf of their respective countries.

The formalization of diplomatic relations creates an opportunity for the two countries to explore cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as tourism, digital governance, financial services, education and climate action. Zambia also sought Andorra’s support for its candidacy to the Human Rights Council for the term 2027 to 2029.

The two ministers reaffirmed sustainable tourism as a shared priority in tackling climate change, creating jobs and advancing education.

Faus noted that sustainable tourism is one of Andorra’s main priorities in meeting shared aspirations.
