United Party for National Development (UPND) Candidate, Thomas Sipalo has been declared duly elected Member of Parliament for Munali Constituency after polling 27, 242 votes.

Munali Constituency, Returning Officer Chrispine Syatalimi announced the results, confirming Mr Sipalo”s victory over Resolute Party’s Chripin Chiinda who received 20, 988.

Independent candidate Chimbalanga Semba followed with 8, 408, while another Independent’s Obbie Chomba polled 3, 588, Agaton Mvunga and Andrew Mutila both Independent polled 2,446 and 1, 250 votes respectively while others candidates shared spoils.

A total of 68,889 votes were cast, with 1,665 ballots rejected.

Speaking after being declared as MP elect, Mr Sipalo Pledged to bring development in Munali Constituency, calling on all losing candidates to work with him.

He further thanked President Hakainde Hichilema and UNPD for adopting him.
