United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate Ambrose Lufuma has scooped the Kabompo East Constituency parliamentary seat in Kabompo District.

 Kabompo East Constituency Returning Officer Augustine Zulu announced the results at Kabompo East Constituency totaling centre at about 18:56 hours yesterday.

Mr Lufuma who is also a former Defence Minister polled 6,694 votes against his only rival Richard Mbowela an independent candidate who garnered 6,262 votes, giving him a winning margin of 432 votes.

A total of 13,079 votes were cast, and 123 votes were rejected.
