STATE House says President Hakainde Hichilema will not initiate post-election dialogue until those calling for it submit formal proposals.

Chief communications specialist Clayson Hamasaka said the government has not received any proposal detailing who should take part, what issues should be on the agenda or what the reconciliation process should entail.

Speaking to Phoenix News, Hamasaka said dialogue cannot be advanced through media statements and public commentary alone.

Those pushing for talks should formally submit their proposals to the government so participants and issues can be clearly defined, he said.

Hamasaka said the government is still unclear about who it is expected to engage and what the talks would cover, adding that the president cannot start a process whose purpose, participants and terms have not been formally presented.
