The Road Development Agency (RDA) has announced that the institution will soon implement an organizational restructuring process to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

RDA Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nelson Chuma says the organizational changes will strengthen the agency’s contribution to the Grow Zambia Mission, an ambitious national economic expansion strategy recently pronounced by President Hakainde Hichilema.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka , Eng. Chuma explained that to remain effective and responsive, the institution needs to embark on faster decision making and execution, which he said will better position RDA to deliver sustainable results.

He said restructuring the institution will enhance accountability and performance management while encouraging greater collaboration across departments.

He emphasized that the restructuring initiative will focus on Strategic Realignment, Operational Efficiency, Strengthening Accountability, Investment in Talent and Capacity Building as well Technology and Innovation.

“This restructuring is a strategic step designed to improve efficiency, accountability, and impact. It aligns our organization with the goals of the Grow Zambia Mission and ensures we are better equipped to deliver sustainable growth and value for all stakeholders,” Eng. Chuma stressed.

Eng. Chuma acknowledged that the process can create uncertainty among employees but assured that the process will be managed responsibly, transparently and with respect to all employees.

“Throughout the transition, we will Maintain open communication with staff and stakeholders, provide guidance and support to affected employees, and ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws and regulations,” he said.

He stated that the institution will ensure that there is business continuity and uninterrupted service delivery to stakeholders and clients.

During President Hichilema’s inauguration last week, he pledged to more than double Zambia’s economy, a move anchored on the Grow Zambia Agenda, an economic strategy aimed at accelerating growth and investment.
