President Hakainde Hichilema has assured the residents of Nsama District in Northern Province that the construction of the Mporokoso–Nsama Road and the completion of district administration infrastructure will be among his government’s top priorities if the United Party for National Development (UPND) is re-elected.

And President Hichilema also assured the residents that the challenges of limited mobile network coverage and inadequate electricity supply in the district would soon be addressed.

He further disclosed that plans to construct Kasaba Bay Airport are underway to improve transportation and stimulate economic growth in the area.

The Head of State made the remarks during a community engagement meeting held at Kabobole Primary School grounds in Nsama District.

President Hichilema said Nsama District would continue to benefit from increased development across various sectors, urging residents to vote for the UPND in the August 13, 2026 General Election to ensure continuation of ongoing development programmes.

“You have already seen what we have done in all the sectors, and if you want continuity, vote for the UPND on August 13, 2026,” the President said.

The Head of State also assured volunteer health workers in the district that government would consider them for employment.

Meanwhile, President Hichilema highlighted that the enhanced Constituency Development Fund (CDF) had accelerated development in communities, adding that more projects would be implemented if the UPND is retained into office.

He also noted that the Free Education Policy and School Feeding Programme had transformed the education sector by increasing access to learning and improving learner welfare.

“If you want your children to continue benefiting from free education and the school feeding programme, vote for the UPND,” Mr Hichilema added.

And Nsama residents have commended the UPND government for the many developmental projects that have so far been implemented in the area since 2021.

Mary Mazimba said the increase in the Social Cash Transfer Programme, Free Education Policy, the School Feeding Programme and other development initiatives have positively impacted the lives of not only Nsama but also many Zambians.

Ms Mazimba said the Free Education Policy has enabled more children to access education regardless of their families financial status, while the School Feeding Programme has helped improve school attendance and learner performance by ensuring pupils receive nutritious meals while at school.

She further noted that the government’s development programmes have contributed to improving the welfare of communities through increased investment in social services and infrastructure, adding that residents are beginning to witness positive changes in their district.

Ms Mazimba appealed to President Hichilema to ensure that Nsama District is connected to the national electricity grid through ZESCO when re-elected in the August 13 general elections saying access to electricity would stimulate economic activities, improve service delivery and enhance livelihoods in the area.

“My family and I will vote for President Hakainde Hichilema so that he continues with his developmental agenda as no politician has ever come to our aid,” she said.

And another resident Florence Chola pledged to cast her vote for President Hichilema in the forthcoming general elections as she believes his continued leadership will help facilitate the upgrading of the Mporokoso–Nsama Road.

Ms Chola said the road is critical to improving transportation, boosting trade and enabling easier access to health, education and other essential services.

She added that improved road infrastructure would transform the livelihoods of local communities in the area and open up more opportunities for growth.
