Speaking during a community engagement meeting at Katuta Primary School ground this afternoon, the President announced that works on Katuta Boarding Secondary School will soon be completed.
He also assured the residents that government will improve the road network in the area.
“We know the problem of roads here and we will soon begin to work on the Sunday-Chungu Road, Nsombo – Luwingu- Lupososhi road and Katuta – Sobongi road,” President Hichilema said.
The Head of State also pledged to improve mobile phone network in Lupososhi District.
And the President has urged the people of Lupososhi to re-elect him and the UPND for continued development.
He said his government has recorded numerous successes among them the free education policy that has seen over 2.5 million children going back to school.
“That is the reason why you are voting for the UPND because of free education,” President Hichilema said.
Mr Hichilema further cited the peace that the country has seen since 2021 as one of the reasons for Zambians to rally behind the ruling party.
He also said voting for the UPND will allow for the employment of more civil servants such as health workers, teachers and other departments.
“We are continuing with cash for work and we have also increased the social cash transfer programme,” he said.
President Hichilema announced that all volunteer health workers and teachers in Lupososhi will be employed.
Earlier, UPND Acting Provincial Chairperson Cephas Bwalya assured the President of maximum support in next Thursday’s General Elections.
And UPND Lupososhi parliamentary candidate Shadreck Mwansa thanked President Hichilema for ensuring more young people are adopted at various levels.
Mr Mwansa said the move reflects President Hichilema’s commitment to enhance youth participation in governance.
