Super League champions Power Dynamos have extended Head Coach Osward Mutapa’s contract until December 2029, rewarding him for a period of sustained success.

‎Power announced the new deal on Friday, saying it secures Mutapa’s services as the club targets continued dominance locally and on the continent.
‎
‎Club President Benny Simukoko said the extension was based on performance and belief in Mutapa’s project.
‎
‎”Yes, all Power Dynamos contracts are performance-based, including that of the coach. We are proud to continue working with him. Additionally, we have goals as a Club and we believe Coach Mutapa is the man to help us achieve these goals,” Mr. Simukoko said.

‎Mutapa, who took charge and transformed the team, expressed gratitude to management and supporters.
‎
‎”I am honoured to extend my stay at this great Club until 2029. We have achieved a lot together, but there is still more to do. Our target is to sustain success, compete on the continent, and bring more trophies to our fans,” he said.

‎Mutapa led Power to back-to-back Super League titles in 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons.
‎
‎He guided Power to the group stage of the CAF Champions League and the ABSA Cup final last season.
‎
‎The extension makes Mutapa one of the longest-serving coaches in the Super League and signals Power’s intent to build a dynasty.
