The Zambia Police Service has charged two individuals with criminal trespass after they allegedly entered a residence in Chalala, Lusaka, without consent.

Police say the incident was reported at Lubwa Police Station around 11:00 hours by Patricia Mulenga, who discovered the suspects inside her bedroom.

Brief facts indicate that Ms. Mulenga had gone to take a shower and upon returning found Nsanda Phiri allegedly sleeping on her bed, while Natasha Chanda was reportedly attempting to undress. Both appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The complainant questioned the suspects, who appeared surprised, before police were called to the scene. The two were apprehended and taken to Lubwa Police Station, where they were charged with criminal trespass.

Police confirmed the suspects have since been released on bond pending court appearance.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha reminded members of the public to respect the property, privacy and lawful rights of others, and to refrain from unlawfully entering premises without consent.
