SISHUWA SISHUWA WRONG AGAIN: HH Lost 5 times but never  called  for riot why would he start now.

Dr. Sishuwa Sishuwa’s post of August 2nd has aged badly. He wrote that President Hakainde Hichilema would lose on August 13th unless he resorted to “pre-ballot death” or “industrial scale vote-rigging.”

The people have spoken. There was no death. There was no rigging. There was a WIN.

But more importantly, Dr. Sishuwa asks: “Will Hichilema accept defeat or ask the military to seize power?”

Hakainde Hichilema has lost elections more times than any President in Zambian history, and he NEVER called for a riot, NEVER called for a coup, never incited his supporters to burn the country.

– 2006: Lost to Levy Mwanawasa – He conceded and went back to work.
– 2008:Lost to Rupiah Banda – He conceded.
– 2011:Lost to Michael Sata – He conceded and congratulated the winner.
– 2015: Lost by only 27,757 votes to Edgar Lungu – Painful, but he went to COURT, not to the streets. No riot.
– 2016:Lost again to Edgar Lungu in a disputed election – He again went to COURT, not to State House with soldiers

A man who lost 5 times and never once told his supporters “go to the streets, I have won” is now being accused by Sishuwa that he will use the military when he loses?

The facts show the opposite.
Zambians remember, when  HH lost in 2016, it was HIS supporters who were beaten, his party offices closed, and he was later jailed for 127 days on a treason charge that failed in court. He never once said “I am the President, defend me.”

In 2021, when he WON, the man who lost Edgar Lungu in conceded peacefully. That is the democratic culture HH has strengthened, not weakened.

If HH was a “lawless, undemocratic scumbag” as Sishuwa calls him, why did he wait 15 years and use the ballot 6 times?

A scholar who calls a sitting President a “lying, tribal, corrupt, unpatriotic, vindictive, hypocritical, lawless, and undemocratic scumbag” has left analysis and entered activism.

Dr. Sishuwa predicted an HH loss on 21st June. He repeated it on 2nd August. On 13th August, Zambians rejected that prediction.

Instead of introspection Sishuwa should ask himself why his analysis is wrong? He is  now shifting goalposts to “will he hand over power?” A question that is moot, because he has WON.

Mr Sishuwa should know that this  is not political science. This is wishful thinking disguised as prophecy.

The real question is not whether HH will accept defeat. He has accepted defeat five times with grace and through legal channels.

Dr. Sishuwa Sishuwa should accept the fact that Zambian people have rejected his analysis and re-elected Hakainde Hichilema.

Will he congratulate the winner as HH did when he lost? Or will he continue to delegitimize an election just because his preferred outcome did not happen?

Zambia’s democracy is bigger than one scholar’s Twitter thread. It is decided in polling stations, not on X.

President Hichilema has earned this victory through hard work, not rigging. And his 15-year record proves he is a democrat who believes in the ballot, not the bullet.
