More than 5,000 farmers in Kasenengwa district in Eastern Province have redeemed their farming inputs under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) ahead of the 2026/2027 farming season.
This is out of the targeted 14,038 FISP beneficiaries.
Kasenengwa District Agriculture Coordinator, Adamson Mwale, told the media that a total of 5, 227 farmers have redeemed their inputs in readiness for the next farming season.
“Over 5,000 farmers have managed to redeem their farm inputs but we expect this number to steadily rise in the coming weeks,” he stated.
Mr Mwale revealed that out of this figure, 5, 063 farmers have fully redeemed their inputs while 214 have partially redeemed.
He also indicated that a sum of 7,994 Authority to Deposit (ATDs) have so far been issued to enable farmers to make their K400 contributions.
He disclosed that of this figure, a total of 7, 783 farmers have already made their deposits
