The project brings together practical business resources, expert insights and conversations with entrepreneurs and professionals who have real experience building projects in Zambia.

Its goal is to give participants access to practical tools and perspectives they can use when working on their own ideas, from planning and finance to marketing, technology, visibility and business growth.

One of the central elements of 1xStartup is the 1xStartup Project Contest, an open contest where participants can submit their business or social projects and compete for cash prizes to support their implementation. Project Contest applications open on October 6 The live takes place on the same day applications open for the 1xStartup Project Contest. Applications will be accepted from October 6 to November 15, 2026.

Zambia residents aged 18–35 will be able to submit a business or social project for consideration. Following the selection process, three winners will receive a $2,000 cash prize each to implement the projects they submitted to the Contest. The Contest is designed to identify ideas with a clear purpose and realistic potential for implementation, while giving their creators an opportunity to take the next practical step.
