National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity presidential candidate Brian Mundubile took his campaign to Kafulafuta on Thursday, addressing a large gathering of supporters as he pushes for votes ahead of the August polls.

Traders, farmers, and residents from surrounding villages attended the rally to hear what he and his running mate Makebi Zulu had to say.

Many could be seen holding placards bearing campaign messages as well as Mundubile and Zulu’s images, sang and danced.

The campaign messages focused on the cost of living, mealie meal prices, jobs, and agricultural inputs.

In his address, Mundubile focused on key issues affecting the constituency, including the cost of living, agriculture, youth unemployment, and infrastructure development.

Meanwhile, former Member of Parliament and former Minister of Labour Fackson Shamenda has maintained that Mundubile will win the August 13 presidential election.

Responding to a story making the rounds on some media platforms, Shamenda wrote:

“I have noted with concern the circulation of false statements by UPND media personalities, bloggers, and affiliated media platforms claiming that I predicted the defeat of Hon. Brian Mundubile in the 2026 General Election.

I wish to state categorically that these claims are false, misleading, and a deliberate misrepresentation of my position.

My position remains exactly as stated in _The Mast_ of July 21, 2026, where I made it clear that I foresee the opposition forming the next Government. That position has not changed, and I stand by it.

It is therefore regrettable that certain individuals and media platforms have chosen to distort my statements for political propaganda and to mislead the public.

I am currently considering taking appropriate action against those responsible for publishing and circulating these defamatory statements and false attributions regarding my political views.

I urge members of the public to disregard the fabricated reports and rely only on my official statements as published or issued by me.”
