More than 100 pugilists from 15 boxing clubs within Lusaka are expected to take part in the boxing tournament organised by the Midlands Boxing Association (MABA).

MABA Secretary Morgan Mwansa says the competition to be held in conjunction with Exodus Boxing Academy, will host a boxing league tournament  in Lusaka on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Mwansa told  the media that the tournament will be held at the Inter Bus Station from 09:00 hours to 18:00 hours as part of the Association’s 2026 boxing calendar.

Mwansa said this as a notice to club secretaries that all participating clubs are expected to abide by the rules of boxing.

He said MABA has also directed participating club sponsors to meet the costs of transportation, meals and other logistics for their respective clubs.

“A participation fee of K100 has been set for each participating club,” he said.

Mwansa said the tournament is expected to provide boxers with an opportunity to gain competitive experience as MABA continues with its 2026 boxing programme.
