Masked police are UPND cadres, criminals snatching people’s phones, asserts Mundubile

NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has alleged that UPND cadres have been issued Zambia Police uniforms and cautioned Zambian youths to remain vigilant

Mundubile further asserted that any police officer wearing a face mask while on duty is, in fact, a ruling party cadre deployed to carry out specific assignments.

“We have confirmed it, they’re all UPND cadres. The people that followed us to Kalabo are all UPND cadres… so these are all UPND cadres putting on Police uniforms. We want every Zambian to be on the lookout.

“Procedurally, you should be able to see the faces of these Police officers. There should be a name tag and service number displayed. Those that are hiding behind masks are cadres. They are criminals snatching people’s phones and engaging in all manner of criminal activities,” he alleged.

Mundubile said this at a press briefing shortly after alleged Police officers disrupted his Mongu campaign rally with teargas.

The ruling UPND and the Zambia Police Service had not responded to the allegations by the time of publication.
