All great leaders have faced criticism or  have been suspected of betrayal by their own people at one time, an example is the great Nelson Mandela of south Africa , he was once considered a traitor by some of his own people and party members for negotiating with the white apartheid minority and making compromises that secured the liberation of south Africa. In the heat of the moment his people misunderstood him, trust was broken but after achieving his goal of a free south Africa, he took steps that rebuilt that trust and confidence of the public and today we call him a hero.

Today the party NRPUP faces a similar predicament, people are angry and emotional about the different decisions that the party president Hon. Ezra Tembo  has made, such as being silent on some sensitive matters that people may want to hear his voice on, or making compromises that may be unpopular but in the best interest of the party and the people at large.

He has privileged information and intelligence that neither the general public nor his critics have access to, when making decisions. Majority of his critics have run away from the country into the diaspora when the political temperature in the country has risen, in the process compromising by abandoning the people physically.

The NRPUP president Hon. Ezra Tembo should be hailed as a hero together with all the MPs, Mayors, councilors who carry the NRPUP party name, for standing with the people when it is not fashionable. While most people are running away from the country, making statement in the press and social media. These NRPUP elected representatives are the direct voice of over 1.8 million people who voted for the them and the party ideals. They have chosen to make their grievances known within the confines of the law, so that they can protect the seats the people entrusted them with, to give a divergent view to those of other parties also serving the people.

In conclusion the party was founded on ideas that are in the interest of the people, at the core of those ideas is the founding president Hon. Ezra Tembo , all the candidates that stood on the NRPUP ticket subscribed to these ideas starting from the presidential candidate, running mate, MPs, Mayors and councilor, that is why the adoption certificates carried his name as signature. These ideas rise above personal ambition to serve the greater good of the people.  Personalities in the picture may change but the ideas you loved and followed in those personalities are engraved in the soul of the party.

Hence be assured that, every move is being made in the interest of the people, it may not look so because you don’t know all the facts in the background.
