Chipolopolo forward Lameck Banda is facing disciplinary action at his Italian Club U.S Lecce for late coming.

Lecce said in a statement that Banda has delayed reporting for pre-season ahead of the 2026/27 Italian Serie A campaign.

“U.S. Lecce announces that the player Lameck Banda, already called up for the resumption of sports activities, today represented the further delay in the logistical and bureaucratic issues that have, to date, prevented his return to Italy,” the club said.

Banda is a key member of the Lecce squad.

“U.S. Lecce will carry out the necessary in-depth investigations regarding the circumstances taken by the player, reserving any initiatives, even on a disciplinary level, that are aimed at the correct fulfilment of contractual obligations related to the employment relationship that expires on June 30, 2027,” Lecce stated.

Banda joined Lecce in August 2022 after leaving Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva.

He is the first Zambian player to ever feature in the Italian Serie A.

Locally, Banda has played for Nkwazi and Zesco United.
