Independent Parliamentary Candidate Faith Lungu has scooped the Malambo East Constituency election beating her closest rival, Mike Mposha of the United Party for National Development (UPND) and former Member of Parliament for Munali in Lusaka.

Frank Mazani, the Returning Officer for Malambo East Constituency duly declared Faith Lungu as winner.

Ms Lungu polled 7,118 valid votes against Mike Mposha who polled 5,091 valid votes.

The Malambo East Constituency Parliamentary Seat was being contested by four candidates, namely Rodgers Lubilo of the Liberal Democratic Partywho came in third position with 2,458 valid votes while Ngoma Mun’gomba of the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) took fourth position with 1,150 valid votes.

A total of 16,330 votes were cast with 513 ballot papers rejected as invalid.
