The First National Bank-FNB has successfully concluded a joint 2026/2027 collective Bargaining process in partnership with the Zambia Union of Financial Institution and Allied Workers-ZUFIAW, which will deliver an average salary increase of 11.4%.

Speaking at the official signing ceremony FNB Chief Executive officer Kapumpe Chola described the conclusion as a significant milestone in the Bank’s continued commitment to collaboration and shared progress.

 “Today marks the successful conclusion of the 2026/2027 Collective Bargaining process between FNB Zambia and the Zambia Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers, reflecting a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to collaboration and shared progress.”

She added that the collective Bargaining Agreement strikes a balance between competitive employee’s remuneration and clear performance expectations.

“This Collective Bargaining Agreement strikes a balance between competitive employee remuneration and clear performance expectations because as FNB Zambia, we are committed to fostering a high-performance culture, and in return, we ensure that our employees are rewarded fairly and competitively for their contributions,” said Chola.

 Chola noted that the agreement reflects the bank’s commitment to fairness, transparency to the wellbeing of the employees. Fostering a work environment that promotes value, empowerment and support.

“The agreement is more than an adjustment in remuneration, it is a recognition of the hard work, dedication, and contributions of our employees, and reinforces our commitment to creating a workplace where every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed,” said Chola.

 She further mentioned that the achievement is the result of the strong partnership between Management and the Union, which brought together a shared commitment to the long-term success of FNB employees and the Bank.

Speaking at the same event, Zambia Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Worker ZUFIAW General Secretary and CEO Mr. Kasapo Sundrea Kabende commended the collaboration and the agreement established with FNB in concluding the 2026/2027 collective bargaining.
