The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is in mourning following the passing of former Red Arrows Chairperson Colonel Nolassco Kaoma Chilando.
Col. Chilando died on 27th July 2026 at Maina Soko Medical Centre in Lusaka after an illness.
FAZ President Keith Mweemba described the late Col. Chilando as a devoted servant of the game and a lifelong supporter of Zambian football.
“On behalf of the Football Association of Zambia and the entire football family, I wish to extend my condolences to the Chilando family and the Red Arrows community on the loss of one of the most recognisable personalities in our game,”Mweemba said.
“While Colonel Chilando set himself apart during his tenure as Red Arrows chairperson, he was always a permanent supporter of the airmen and Zambian football beyond his leadership tenure.”
Col. Chilando served two spells as Red Arrows chairperson. Even after his time in office, he remained a regular presence at the club’s matches.
He was among the supporters at the 2026 ABSA Cup final which Red Arrows won, and also attended the club’s End of Season Awards.
FAZ has joined the Red Arrows family, the Chilando family, and the entire football fraternity in mourning the passing of a man remembered for his unwavering commitment to the sport.
May His Soul Rest in Peace.
