THE Department of Health Services in Chipangali District in Eastern Province says the clinical services in the district are currently stable with drug availability above 89 percent.

Chipangali District Clinical Care Officer Geoffrey Ndhlovu disclosed that the 89 percent drug availability in the district reflects adequate essential medicines, essential supplies and vaccines. 

Mr Ndhlovu added that three more health facilities have been opened in the district bringing the total number of health facilities to 27.

“We have opened three more health facilities in the district namely Nguluwe, Nyauzi, and Kapatamoyo health facilities which are already providing outpatient health services,” Mr Ndhlovu said. 

He however noted that the new facilities are not fully operational as they still face challenges relating to inadequate essential equipment and supplies.
