Farmers in Chifunabuli District have begun redeeming their farming inputs under the 2026/2027 Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP).

Chifunabuli District Marketing Development Officer, Dolnald Sikazwe said 472 farmers have so far successfully redeemed their inputs through the E- voucher system.

Mr Sikazwe explained that a total of 2,375 farmers out of 3, 419 beneficiaries in the district have had their E-voucher codes activated in readiness to access inputs.

He explained that the 2, 375 farmers whose codes have been activated are those who supplied the required 10 by 50 kilogrammes of maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) upon which they were automatically issued with E-voucher codes which will allow them to redeem their inputs.

Mr Sikazwe revealed that five agro-dealers have been engaged to supply inputs in the district and out of the five, four are already in the district with one in the process to finalise the movement of stock.

And Chifunabuli District Commissioner, Stanley Mukosa inspected the agro-dealers and expressed happiness with the service.

Mr Mukosa noted that timely redemption of inputs will allow farmers to plant their crops on time for a better crop yield.

He has called on agro-dealers not to supply farmers with underweight bags of fertilizer and seed.

“To our agro-dealers, I can see that you are equal to the task but as government, we will not allow you to supply underweight inputs to our farmers, if we receive such complaints, you will automatically be blacklisted and so to keep a good relationship between government and yourselves, ensure that you give farmers the quality and quantity that will allow them to give us even a better yield next year,” Mr Mukosa said.
