Construction of Chief Mukupa Katandula’s palace in Kaputa district has reached over 90 percent completion.

Kaputa Town Council Director of Engineering Stephen Sakala who has disclosed to the media said all the major structures under the project have been completed.

 Mr Sakala has explained that the remaining works involve the installation of ceiling boards and the drilling of a borehole before the project can be fully complete.

He expressed confidence that the outstanding works will be complete soon, paving the way for the official handover of the facility.

“Works for the construction of the Chief Mukupa Katandula have reached 93 percent complete, only minor works are remaining, the works include; include chief’s palace, a conference room, and two houses for chief’s retainers,” he said.

“We are only remaining with the installation of ceiling boards and the drilling of a borehole,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mr Sakala has disclosed that renovations to the District Commissioner’s office have reached 75 percent completion.

Mr Sakala disclosed that the works are being undertaken using the disaster component of the constituency development fund, adding that only minor works are remaining, such as ventilation, electric installations and plumbing works.
